My Academy Pick

 

 

 

 

This is the first time I've done a film post. Seems a little strange, but what the heck.

My pick for Best Actor of the year goes to Daniel Day-Lewis for Lincoln.

Goodness sakes!! The resemblence in profile totally aside, he nailed that role.

In fact everyone who had a role in this was spot on.

The writing was seriously well done, and if anyone could embody Lincoln, it couldn't have been done finer than Day-Lewis.

I loved the film. It was a serious good one for me. I know the film has been nominated for 12 Academy Awards this year. I predict a sweep.

If Day-Lewis does not take home Oscar for this role, I will weep real tears.

Take the entire family to this.... or it may be on the way out of theatres, but get the DVD.

As a side note, I usually don't like violent films.

I did love the Godfather Trilogy... or rather I should say Godfather I. and II.

I didn't care at all for Godfather III.

Anyway, I usually don't do a lot of action film, but my son took me to see Gangster Squad the other night, and I actually liked it. Not a fan of Sean Penn either, but he did really well in this.

I am one of those people who don't really get the whole Ryan Gosling thing- not knocking him at all ladies, just don't get him, though I am willing to hear about your adoration.

This film might be way too violent for some, and some scenes are explicit, so don't take the kiddies. But I thought it was worth a watch, for a thrill.
